dave

dave was born and bred in the boston punk rock scene of the 90's. In 1996, he joined the band Not Quite Amish, a quirky pop side project of a few local musicians. Being a multi-instrumentalist, this gave him a background in numerous instruments, most of which he would never perform with publicly again. Not Quite Amish also gave dave his first introduction to recording on a 4-track, an experience that would become quite important a few years later.

After the end of high school caused the diverging paths of those musicians, he formed three bands in his two years at WPI, all records of which are (thankfully) lost to the sands of time. These years did bring much more experience with the 4-track, and an introduction to digital recording.

After realizing that aerospace engineering was lovely for many people but incredibly boring and unsatisfying for him, dave transferred to Emerson College to study audio production, causing the end of all three projects. Once in Boston, dave started to flirt with electronic music due to a lack of drummers. A few solo efforts under the monkiers ideosyncratic routine and free show proved unfulfilling.

Concurrent with these first stabs at electronic music, dave began producing and engineering recordings for Scissorkiss, where he met jhimm. After Scissorkiss dissolved, jhimm and dave began forming plans to start working together. (lisp) is the result of those plans.
